Being a specialist medical and pharmaceutical trade show and events organizers, Shem Services Ltd collaborated with the Society of Private Medical & Dental Practitioners of Ghana for the first International Medical and Pharmaceutical Expo in Accra, Ghana.

The International Medical & Pharmaceutical Fair, Medishop Expo under the theme “Sustaining the National Health Insurance Scheme-Building Capacity of Service Providers was impressive by all standards. Over 42 companies exhibited their products from around the world.

Government support for the fair was displayed by the huge presence of the its delegation led by the Chairman of the Council Of State, Prof. Kofi Awoonor and the current Minister Of Health, Dr. Ben Kumbuor and the Director of the Ministry Of Health, Madam Salimata Abdul-Salam.

Our exhibitors profile range from health insurance companies like Nationwide Mutual Health and the National Health Authority. Phena International from UK exhibited the latest Ultra-sonic Machines while GE Medical Equipment from the United States of America displayed their Scan Machines. Pharmaceutical giants like Bedita Pharmacy, Vicdoris Pharmacy from Ghana were present as well as Tobinco Pharmacy and PM International from the Netherlands and Germany.

Our collaboration with the Private Medical Doctors also ensured that all the exhibitors ran out of products exhibited with a lot of follow up leads for repeat patronage.
The huge cost of recruiting medical representation and promotion of medical and pharmaceutical products are a disservice to the industry. The difficulty faced by medical representatives in meeting with physicians due to their busy schedules in their consulting rooms is awesome.

Medishop Expo 2010 is definitely going to be exceptional as most companies are now preparing towards it. The conference theme is “The emerging Oil & Gas Wealth in Ghana-Environmental & Medical Challenges To Our Community is generating a lot of interest among medical practitioners.

The agreement by the Private Medical & Dental Practitioners Ghana to work with the Medical & Dental Council to accredit the conference course as well as invite resource persons from around the world who are experts in mineral and environmental health to give lectures and present papers.

This is a must attend conference for doctors , opinion leaders and district assemblies. This time, we are expecting not less than 100 exhibitors due to our ongoing high level of marketing and public relations campaign which has already begun. We had less than four months to plan the first edition, but this time around, we have over twelve months to plan Medishop Expo 2010.

The government of Ghana is leaving nothing to chance in its preparation for the oil wealth and the Ministry of Health is looking forward to this fair and conference in August 2010.
